It was 29th January, Sunday. All of us had decided that we are going to watch the movie though i was not much interested especially for the reason that i had to get up early in the morning(atleast from my point of view) that too on a Sunday, sounds so disgusting !!! The thing which was more irritating was that i had to go to office after watching the movie. So, Now i dont want to elaborate this more because i am not writing this to convey in what state of mind i had watched the movie. Also dont be under the impression that you will find a review(like the ones given by Khaled Mahmud) because i know by this time most of you would have watched the movie.
PS: All the characters i speak about are fictious but any reference to person dead or alive is not co-incidental.
Lets begin with it.The movie started with this most impressive quote :-
Ab bhi jiska khoon na khola woh khoon nahi paani hai!
Jo desh ke kaam na aaye woh bekaar jawani hai !!
This was more than enough for anyone to be geared up no matter what state of mind he was and i wasn't an exception either.Though i was very much frustrated after watching the hyped movie "Mangal Pandey" i was sure this would not have the same impact and i was right. The film started with a young lady impressed by her grandfather's diary coming to INDIA to shoot a documentary on the freedom fighters especially Bhagat Singh & his co.
The way the story goes is simply outstanding. It revolves around a bunch of young guys still in College each with his own set of dreams. How they change from being carefree students to responsible citizens really makes everyone think in these terms.Coming to the characters (Sukhi,DJ,Pandey,Ajay,Karan,Aslam,Su) everyone is outstanding no matter who it is !!! But i liked Karan(Siddharth) very much because though the character always seemed to be so serious yet was involved so much with everyone else around. Then ofcourse we had our DilJeet(DJ) i.e. none other than Amir Khan.No match for his acting , be its a comedy scene or the climax.
The first part of the film was very fungoing kind with all the actions just reminding me of my college days, though even today i haven't changed much except for the scarcity of time which i am facing. The film also had some romance in it especially with Madhavan & Soha going around. What a break this female has got ??? (I really envied Madhavan;wished i had one!!!) .Okay, coming to the second part though not at the same pace as the first part; but was really more effective.Especially the climax, with all the guts these guys accept the truth and the way they leave behind them a bunch of questions need to be answered by us (that too not objective) may have left everyone in the theatre dumbfounded ofcourse i was.
The film basically maps the pre-independence situation to the present situation with no kind of flaws as such. So, I think most of us would have been really influenced by it and why not after all it was intended for us.
Now coming to the music, no comments A.R. Rehman has done it again. The direction & the script has also been superb. But the dialogues are the ones which actually take away most of the credit. To be more specific this is the dialogue that was more impressive :-
" Zindagi Jeene ke do tariekein hote hai;Ek jo horaha hai use hone do,
Aur doosra zimmedariyaan uthaon use badalne ki "
To Conclude the movie was really impressive and i had forgot all the complains i had before!!!These are just my feelings...
Any Comments ; Appreciated !!!
